As Late Summer turns to Autumn, we feel a fundamental shift within ourselves. By being in tune with these changes and knowing what they bring, we can develop strategies to sync ourselves to the new season. Join us at Nourish from 6:15-7:30pm on October 10th as we explore what foods, drinks, herbs, spices, movement, and mentality can help us to thrive throughout Autumn and inspire you to be your best self this beautiful season.
What we’ll cover in this class:
Discuss the concepts of constitutions and the importance of the individual approach to health
The concepts of Agni, Qi, and metabolic energy
Introduce the 6 main qualities/attributes: hot/cold, light/heavy, dry/damp
Seasonal foods and these 6 qualities
Introduce the 6 tastes: sweet, sour, pungent, bitter, salty, astringent
How seasonal change affects our constitution; Autumn from a TCM and Ayurvedic approach
the link between breath and immunity
How spices help us metabolize macronutrients and boost our immune system
In-class tastings:
- Spiced Autumn tea, Creamy Chai latte, Sparkling apple cider
- Kitchari (A traditional Ayurvedic dish)
