In just two sleeps we will be celebrating the Winter Solstice; the shortest day and longest night of the year. After December 21, the days will start getting longer as the light returns. We can't think of a better way to celebrate the Solstice than a cozy night of storytelling by the Parlour fire. We asked Jordan Bower if he would share his storytelling skills with our Nourish family and he enthusiastically said, "Yes!"
WE RECOMMEND RESERVING YOUR SEAT IN ADVANCE - ALL PROCEEDS GO TO THE MUSTARD SEED AND THE VICTORIA HUMANE SOCIETY.
Russell Books will also be on-site with some favourites you can take home.

We asked Jordan a few questions to get to know him a little better.
1. Tell us the story of how you discovered Nourish...
When I moved from Rockland to James Bay, I was looking for a new place to hang out and work. I've always been a coffee shop kind of guy -- I love people watching. From the very first time I visited Nourish, I was taken by the beauty of the space, but also by the kindness and ease of the staff. It's a really great place to be -- whether I'm working or having a hot drink by the fire!
2. What is your “all in, no holding back” dream in life?
I dream of being one of the world's pre-eminent storytellers -- helping individuals, clients and communities work through their own story to better understand who they are, what they have to offer and how they can connect more authentically with themselves and others.
3. What is your favourite item on the Nourish menu?
I love the Benny in the Moment with chorizo. It's my go to in the middle of the day, when there's more work to do and I'm still hungry!
4. What is your favourite thing to eat that is not on the Nourish menu?
I have an unhealthy obsession with South Indian dosas. If Nourish brought dosas to the menu, I'd never leave.
5. What does holistic health/wellness mean to you?
To me, holistic health is about connecting the health of my mind, body and soul. Storytelling is a favourite tool for bringing me down to Earth, along with walking and yoga. Sometimes, I need a little escape from the dark recesses of the digital world.
6. Day to day what brings you happiness, raises your energy levels and leaves you feeling high on life?
I'm so fortunate to have a wonderful partner with whom I share a deep trust and intimacy. I can always count on her support, honesty and depth to help me even out bumpy parts of my path. I feel so grateful and privileged to have her in my life!
7. If you were having a dinner party with 3 famous people, who would they be and what would you make?
Joseph Campbell. Brene Brown. And Atish, one of my favourite DJs. We'd eat South Indian food and talk about vulnerability & stories.
8. Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
Stronger, more grounded, more courageous, less stressed, surrounded by a family and community I love, engaged by work that challenges me, wiser than I can imagine today.
